Dobson Foundation Micro-Financing Seed Venture Fund
The Dobson Foundation Micro-Financing Seed Venture Fund (Dobson Fund) provides micro-debt financing to start-up ventures led by Ryerson University students.
The Dobson Fund offers loans up to $1,000 to management teams that:
• Are led by students at Ryerson University
• Have a complete business plan outlining a viable busines strategy
• All members of the management team are 18 years of age or older
Terms of the Loan
The terms of the loan are:
• Fixed-term 60 day loan (Please note that loan duration is subject to negotiation).
• Management teams are required to personally guarantee 50 per cent of the loan value (i.e. up to $500).
Repayment of the loan is made in three components:
• Principle: The management team is required to repay the original value of the loan.
• Interest: Fixed 1.0 per cent per month rate of interest is charged. Payment of the interest is due at the end of the term.

After an application is submitted, it is then reviewed by the Portfolio Manager and Managing Director of the Dobson Fund. Approved management teams will be invited to meet with the Portfolio Manager and Managing Director of the Dobson Fund for additional inquiry into the venture.
