The Ryerson Angel Network (RAN) is the first university-led Angel Investor group in Canada. Our mandate is to provide young entrepreneurs, including Students and recent Alumni as well as those who work with Post Secondary institutions with an opportunity to connect with active Angel investors throughout the GTA.

RAN offers Angels a unique opportunity to discover and participate in the commercialization of innovative and enterprising ideas from the best young minds Ryerson and Toronto has to offer.

RAN is a part of SIFE’s StartMeUp Ryerson process and is run by the Ryerson Entrepreneur Institute. These organizations offer a comprehensive suite of programs and resources to prepare students and alumni to launch new businesses.  RAN actively supports those businesses that have high likelihood of success with deal screening and investor-readiness services to ensure a high quality deal flow of superior Angel investment opportunities. RAN also provides after-deal resources and relationship capital management opportunities.

We have been established in collaboration with the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO), which provides funding, training and best-practice investment strategies.  We aim to bring together qualified investors with student and alumni-led businesses for investments that range from smaller deal sizes (less than $50,000) to much larger deals (over $500,000) as well as participation in NACO-led syndication.
